Amazon.com Product Description For people looking to step up to full 1080p resolution in a 52-inch flat-panel LCD, Samsung's 2007 model LNT5265F is a good choice. Besides opffering full 1080p resolution the LNT5265F also features a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for rich blacks and subltle tecture display, an 8ms response time panel for smooth motion, hidden side speakers, an NTSC tuner, and 3 HDMI ports. The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the speakers built into the TV. SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass through hidden side speakers. TruSurround XT audio adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience. - Dialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper.
- TruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself.
- The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system.

Need extended warranty July 23, 2010 jp Great t.v. But had a problem with the switch and had to have service just after the mfg. warranty expired. I recommend using a credit card that doubles your warranty. American Express paid the $350 repair bill. I was very pleased with A. E.
Wide Fit ? March 31, 2010 Tony (Philadelphia) I bought the Samsung LNT5265F when it first came out in May or June of 2007 for the insane price of $4600 from Sears. The TV was brand new and it was one of the first LCD's to have 1080p technology. I also bought a $500 warranty from Sears to increase the warranty to 2012. The price dropped more then $2500 with in 6 months of my purchase. As of 3/2010 I realized I can non longer wide fit any station or channel unless it is in HD and already broadcasting in this format. Prior to this I was able to make any movie or station fit the screen. When Sears came out to look at the TV they decided it maybe a software problem they checked it and said the software I have is the latest version. The software by the way is dated Oct 07. They then decided to switch out the main board in the TV. Unfortunately this did absolutely nothing. They are now trying to tell me that my TV was never able to wide fit stations or movies that aren't broadcasting in that format. The TV has an option that says Wide fit which I've used successfully for almost 3 years. Now the option while still there no longer lights up or allows you to click on it. Anyone else have this problem or was my TV magical and operating above and beyond the capabilities intended by Samsung?
Ghost images and blurs started appearing after 24 months March 25, 2010 G. Winer (Los Angeles) 24 months after purchase....man, why? Ghost images are new and happening all the time now. Blurrs behind moving bodies are appearing too all the time.
There is no problem watching sports broadcasting. There is no problem when tv shows or movies have BRIGHT scenes....
BUT once there are a lot of darker scenes the blurrs follow the movement and when scenes change there are a lot of ghost images left behind that eventually fade away after a few seconds. ITS ANNOYING but like I said it doesnt happen when I watch live sports at night or day. Picture is great until this crap happens and yes this all seems to have started after the warranty expired.
Blurrs and ghost imaging occur on my video game systems as well too.
But overall I am glad I took this chance on the tv because of the fun I have experienced with it when it used to work fine. Its easy menu is a plus as well. Im just bummed about the quality. Im sure in another few months I would drop this down to only 1 or 2 stars
In need of repair after just 2 years of operation. March 19, 2010 Bryan A. Baskett (Mansfield, TX USA) Disappointed in the quality. I've owned other Samsung products that have lasted to the point of obsolescence, however this LCD TV gave me only 2 years of service before needing repaired. This set was $2374.00 in Nov. of 2007, a great deal at the time, although now I see it is going for less than $1000. No complaints on the picture and features, but now on start up, the screen has purple pixels scattered all over it, and must be shut off and turned on a couple of times to eliminate this annoying problem. Estimated repair costs $400 to $500.00. A major disappointment given that my last big screen, a Pioneer Elite gave me 10 years of faithful service. Of course this occurred when I was out of Warranty so the repair is on me.
I think this will be my last Samsung TV, probably opt for a Panasonic next time, I have Panasonic products that I've had since the 70's that still work, to include a portable black and white TV that I've had since 1976. Samsung....you can do BETTER!
Lasted Only 2 Years! January 9, 2010 Chesapeake (MD USA) This TV was fine until it stopped powering up after two years only. There is a defect. Do an online search and you will see numerous complaints about this defect, which Samsung will not acknowledge. A one year warranty is not enough. If you dare to buy it, purchase an extended warranty. I found out the hard way and now I must pay hundreds to have it repaired. I will never buy another Samsung TV...period...underline.
